Zinedine Zidane tests positive for COVID-19

Real Madrid has announced that the club manager, Zinedine Zidane has reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus,

The La Liga club said this  in a statement on Friday January 22 saying the French manager had been isolating earlier this month after a close contact tested positive for Covid-19 and did not attend a training session as a result.

Madrid on their official website wrote: “Real Madrid CF announces that our coach Zinedine Zidane has tested positive for Covid-19.”

Zidane, who is under pressure following Real’s shock cup defeat to third division side Alcoyano earlier this week, will not be available for their La Liga match away at Alaves on Saturday and his assistant David Bettoni will take care of first-team affairs for now.
