Why I founded Nina Empire –Reality star, Nina Ivy

Big Brother Naija reality show stare, Nina Onyenobi, aka Nina Ivy, has said that she has always being an entrepreneur at heart which made her found her hair brand, Nina Empire.

She said, “When I came out of Big Brother Naija, I wanted more from life. I wanted to become an entrepreneur, rather than get a job. I visualised what I wanted and made it happen. Over the years, I have been working round the clock to make the most out of my skills. I am from a hardworking family and I’m proud of my roots. I have been taught how to stay focused and keep aiming higher.

“I created my hair brand three years ago. I grew up knowing I wanted to do a business in the hair and beauty industry. At 16, I learnt how to make wigs of different kinds, including braided ones. At 18, I wore different types and colours of hair extensions in the university. Back then, the only method available was large bulky keratin glue bonds and very poor-quality hair. After wearing several hair extension brands for a while, I decided to create my own brand. I started by initially stocking 14 shades of hair in one length and have since gone on to stock over 100 custom blended shades, hair pieces and extensions. I personally test every hair range and product for several weeks before it reaches the market to ensure that the quality is unmatchable in superiority.”

She added, “This is a true luxury brand in the enhancement of ethnic hair worldwide. Although we are based in Nigeria and the United States of America, our online clientele stretches across borders.

“We make sure all clients can get hair extensions that fit their budgets. To fill the existing gap and take care of the needs of many ladies, I started researching and testing samples of hair until I got the perfect result.”
