Teenagers trying to recover shoe drowns in Jos dam

Two teenagers, identified as Michael Nyam, 8, and Elijah Solomon, 6, drowned at the dam in Rayfield Resort, Jos, Plateau State.

The victims, were said to have drowned while trying to get back the shoes of one of their friends that fell into the dam on Saturday,

NEWSCASTARS.COM learnt that an eyewitness, Mr Gyang Pwol, told t News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the victims were both residents of Rayfield community.

“They jumped into the deep water in the dam to rescue a shoe of their friend, unfortunately, the volume of water was too much.

“Before help could come, they got drowned,” he said.

Pwol, who also confirmed that their remains had been buried, did not give further details.
