After spotlighting functional and lightweight pieces for Spring/Summer 2019, Stone Islandhas dropped off its latest round of pieces from the assortment. The Italian brand’s new releases utilize a special thermosensitive material, designed with an abstract print that morphs with its environment in order to create an optical illusion.
Stone Island’s Printed Heat Reactive Thermosensitive Fabric is offered in three silhouettes — two outerwear pieces and one pair of matching pants. Splattered across each item is a blue and red camouflauge-inspired print, whose colors and patterns transform into unique and different iterations as the temperature changes. The collection also incorporates a variety of other practical details, including a detachable hood on the parka, as well as a two-in-one jacket that can turn into a vest. Meanwhile, the trousers were cut with a tapered fit and offer diagonal front pockets, elastic webbing on the back legs and ribbed inserts on the sides. The range is fully crafted in cotton ripstop.
Priced from €350 EUR (approximately $391 USD) to €750 EUR (approximately $838 USD), the Printed Heat Reactive Thermosensitive Fabric capsule is available to purchase now on Stone Island’s website. Keep scrolling below for a video of the pieces in action.
