Former Kaduna Central senator Shehu Sani, has lambasted the House of Representatives for refusing to lift the ban placed on the microblogging platform, Twitter by the Federal Government.
The House of Representatives had on Thursday, rejected the lifting of Twitter suspension in Nigeria citing reports of the committee on the issues.
The House was divided as some of the lawmakers seemed to be in support of the suspension placed on the platform by President Buhari barely a month ago.
Reacting, the former lawmaker tweeted, “House of Representatives rejection of the lifting of the ban on Twitter is unfortunate and condemnable.
“This is a disappointing and disgraceful example of legislative support for the executive suffocation of the freedom of expression. They are historically in sync with autocracy”.
