Police arrest vigilantes for allegedly killing herdsman

Zamfara State Police Command has arrested four persons for allegedly killing a Fulani herdsman in the Tsafe Local Government Area of the state.

The state Commissioner of Police CP, Abutu Yaro, said, “On January 12, four persons, Lawali Tambai, Abubakar Usman,  Sa’idu Mamman and Ibrahim Adamu, who belonged to a vigilante group, allegedly killed a Fulani herdsman, Babuga Danmalam.

“On receipt of the report, the police in collaboration with the district head of the village arrested the above named suspects in connection with the case.”

The commissioner said the suspects were in police custody undergoing investigation and would be charged to court.

He added, “Similarly, 200 stolen cows, six AK-47 rifles and three vehicles were recovered within the last two weeks. Fifteen persons were arrested in the Shinkafi Local Government Area of the state in possession of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.”
