Police arrest kidnap suspect, recover AK-47 rifles, other ammunitions in Kogi

Kogi state police command have arrested a suspected kidnapper, armed robber, and gunrunner in the State, Mohammed Bako.

Bako was arrested in a stop and search operations along Idah-Anyigba road on 12th August 2021 as contained in a statement issued to DAILY POST on Friday morning.

The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), DSP William Ovye Aya said the suspect was arrested in a commercial vehicle with two (2) AK-47 rifles, 41 rounds of ammunition, one (1) locally made Baretta Pistol, 6.7 MM ammunition hidden in a sack.

According to Aya, the suspect who hails from Koton -Karfe area of Kogi State had confessed ownership of the arms and ammunition.

“Investigation is being intensified. The suspect will be arraigned in court on completion of the investigation.

“Members of the public are assured that the Command is determined to work in synergy with other security agencies in the State to ensure adequate security of life and property,” he added
