The spokesperson to Pele, Jose Fornos Rodrigues, has confirmed that the Brazil legend is resting at home dismissing reports by the English Football Writers Association (FWA) that Pele had been admitted to hospital with exhaustion.
The 77-year-old was supposed to travel to London this weekend for a dinner in his honour at the Savoy Hotel by the FWA which he was able to make that led to his hospitalization rumour.
Newscastars.com gathered from BBC report that Rodrigues called news of pele’s hospitalization “fake news”,
“He just didn’t want to make a long and stressful trip to London, in and out of who knows how many planes and airports. That’s all”, he said.
The football legend has been taken to hospital for kidney and prostate problems in recent years. In his 21-year football career he scored 1,281 goals in 1,363 appearances, including 77 goals in 91 appearances for Brazil.
He helped his country win the 1958, 1962 and 1970 World Cups and was named Fifa’s Player of the Century.
