Nigerian striker, Anthony Nwakaeme has been honoured with a huge statue in Turkey for his impressive contributions at Super Lig side Trabzonspor.
The 32-year-old, who joined the Turkish club from Hapoel Be’er Sheva in 2018, has made over 90 appearances for club, and bagged 20 goals.
Nigerian football journalist Oluwashina Okeleji who shared the news on his social media platform said the image was erected in Trabzon by Adem Birsen.
Speaking about the statue, Adem Birsen said, ” We wanted to make a bust of Nwakaeme, we wanted the very intelligent man to identify with Trabzon. We made it with the cap of our legendary name Ahmet Suat Özyazc?. It was a long construction process in 5-6 months. We had it done with a special sculptor. We love and admire him very much. If Fenerbahçe has Alex, we have Nwakaeme. We love him very much, he should continue to score, he is our everything.”
