The Momoh Abubakar Campaign Organisation has accused All Progressives Congress, APC, National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, of being behind the deployment of mobile policemen drawn from Mopol 60, lyamho, Oshiomhole’s country home, to ensure the entire community was barricaded.
The organisation said the move paved way for thumb printing of ballot papers by APC members, leading to the allocation of 775 votes to APC and zero to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oshiomhole’s polling unit in Iyamho, Etsako West Local Government Area, Edo State.
In a statement by the Director-General of Momoh’s Campaign Organisation, Dr Wilson Imogah, the PDP senatorial candidate for Delta North, condemned “the unholy alliance between security agencies and some powerful APC chieftains, as the party’s flag bearer, Momoh Abubakar, was robbed of victory due to the massive electoral fraud, voters’ intimidation and other irregularities which characterised the polls in Edo North.”
Imogah said results of the presidential and National Assembly polls for Edo North as released by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, was not a true reflection of what truly transpired, stressing that the election was marred by irregularities, vote buying and the massive use of security agencies by the ruling party to influence the final outcome.
Similarly, he accused Senator Alimikhena of using soldiers to arrest and detain PDP stalwarts across Weppa Wanno, whilst ballot box stuffing took place in Ugieda, Anwain and Agbede.
