Man arrested with stolen car in Lagos

Lagos State Rapid Response Squad have recovered a stolen Prado Sport Utility Vehicle from a 47-year-old suspect, Chinebere Innocent.

Police spokesperson in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the Abia State indigene was nabbed on Thursday at Ojota area of Lagos State while driving the stolen vehicle to his hometown and have confessed that he stole the vehicle from a security man when he was re-parking another vehicle inside a compound.

The suspect was quoted as saying in the statement thus, “As I was returning from my sister’s place who refused me entry into her apartment at Gbagada, I saw the Prado parked on the road with its engine running.  I quickly entered it and headed towards the Lagos-Ibadan expressway before I was caught at Ojota towards the old toll gate.”

The vehicle was said to belong to one Mr Olumide Oluwayomi, residing at Towobola area of Gbagada, Lagos State.
