Kidnappers collect N2.2m ransom to release Islamic clerics in Ogun

The abductors of the two Islamic clerics kidnapped on Saturday at Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State have collected N2.2 million as ransom to free their victims.

The family of the clerics, Hussein AbdulJelil and Ilyas Muhammed brought about their receipt of N2.2 million before setting their victims free.

Confirming their release, an elder brother to one of the victims, Hussein Ibrahim said, “They have been released on Tuesday after we gave them N2.2 million as ransom. They initially insisted on N15 million saying they were two people. But when we pleaded, at the end, they agreed to collect N2.2 million from us.”

The Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, could not be reached for his reaction as of the time of filing this report.
