Hoodlum cuts teenager’s hand during grazing land scuffle, flees in Kwara

A 16-year-old boy, Abubakar Sulade, has suffered a deep machete cut in his arm during a quarrel between farmers and herdsmen over grazing land for cattle in the Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State, Babawale Afolabi, in a statement on Sunday, said those responsible for the attack was at large after the incident happened in Sulade village on Friday.

Afolabi said, “There has been a long-term face-off between two families over grazing land, which took a bloody turn recently when one family attacked others with machetes, which resulted in the grievous bodily harm to one Abubakar Sulade, 16, who got a deep cut on his hand. He was reportedly attacked by one Bugi Juli who is still at large.”

Babawale stated that the matter was reported at the divisional office of the agency in Kaima, adding that a manhunt had been launched for the assailant and his accomplice.
