A seven-year-old girl, Hauwa’u Auwalu, lost her life in a fire incident at Dutsen Maidodo quarters, Birnin Kudu Local Government area of Jigawa State which occurred on Friday at about 11:00am, at a niegbour’s house where she had gone to plait her hair but she fell asleep.
It was learnt that all the occupants of the house were evacuated except Hauwa’u who was forgotten by the residents.
Similarly, fire razed down over 40 stalls in Kupsa Market, a Village under Birniwa Local Government area of the state on Friday morning, which killed several animals and destroyed properties worth millions of Naira.
Spokesman of the Jigawa State Civil Defence command, CSC. Adamu Shehu, confirmed the incidents saying the causes of the inferno are unknown but the house and stalls were razed down completely.
