Disney has said that ‘T’Challa’, the role played by the late Chadwick Boseman in 2018’s hit movie “Black Panther” will not be recast in Black Panther 2.
NEWSCASTARS.COM had reported that Boseman died on 22 August 2020 after secretly battling Colon cancer.
Boseman also played T’Challa/Black Panther in “Avengers: Infinity War,” and 2019′s “Avengers” Endgame” which became the first superhero movie to be nominated for best picture at the Academy Awards as it grossed more than $1.3 billion worldwide.
The superhero movie will now go ahead without the T’Challa character as a sign of respect to the late star.
Disney’s Marvel’s studios tweeted;
“Black Panther 2, opening July 8, 2022, is being written & directed by Ryan Coogler,”
“Honoring Chadwick Boseman’s legacy & portrayal of T’Challa, @MarvelStudios will not recast the character, but will explore the world of Wakanda & the rich characters introduced in the first film.”
