England and Durham all-rounder Ben Stokes allegedly mocked two “flamboyant” gay men and flicked his cigarette at them before brawling with two others.
The incident happened outside a nightclub on September 15 last year in what Bristol Crown Court heard was “a sustained episode of significant violence”.
Stokes, who denies the affray charge, is said to have knocked Ryan Ali, 28, and Ryan Hale, 27, unconscious in the Clifton Triangle area of the city.
The court was also told that Stokes “lost control” and was ‘not acting in self-defence’, as he has maintained.
Stokes will miss England’s second Test against India at Lord’s this week as the trial continues.
